Comprehensive service for a Mining and Metallurgical Company

In 2019, GEFCO Russia won a tender for a one-year contract to deliver the products of the MMC's products to China, Canada and Bulgaria. Products are shipped in containers; shipments are made regularly but vary in volume.

GEFCO Russia’s solution

For the MMC's project, GEFCO Russia specialists organized a regular container service — from 1 to 3 container trains with 108 containers per month. The number of trains varied depending on the client’s needs.

The comprehensive service for MMC included rail transportation from a railway station in Murmanskaya Oblast to Avtovo railway station (St. Petersburg) and organization of sea freight from St. Petersburg to destination ports in Canada, Bulgaria and China.

Results

GEFCO Russia won the tender because it offered the most favorable transportation conditions. Over a period of a year, GEFCO Russia transported more than 2,000 containers with over 50,000 tons of cargo. Of these, 70% of the cargo was delivered to China, 25% to Canada and 5% to Bulgaria.
