In 2020, GEFCO Russia strengthens its leadership in the development and implementation of efficient supply models involving rail transport. The company continues operating on routes outside the territory of the Russian Federation. In April, a large number of vehicles were delivered from China to Uzbekistan by order of Sino-Worlink Special Cargo Railway Logistics Co., Ltd.
On April 9, a batch of 216 vehicles was loaded onto customer wagons in Wuhan, China. A week later, the entire batch was reloaded into GEFCO wagons at the terminal of the Eurotransit group of companies at the Altynkol station in Kazakhstan and continued its way to the point of destination. The journey from Altynkol station to the Kazakh station, Ablyk, took 5 days. Transportation was carried out using 24 two-tier car-wagons. At the same time, GEFCO not only provided its own wagon fleet by order of the client, but also undertook the payment of railway tariffs when moving through the territory of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The batch of vehicles became the first such a large cargo received in the Almaty region from China. Due to the developing logistics capacities of the region, a noticeable increase in the volume of such transportations as well as a significant reduction in the transit time of goods along the Asia-Europe routes are expected.
Denis Gliznutsa, Commercial Director of GEFCO Russia, noted: «GEFCO Russia has long established itself as a reliable carrier among many domestic and foreign car manufacturers. What is especially important is that our experience and expertise in the vehicles transportation by rail can be applied not only in Russia, but also at international sites. The delivery carried out in April is not the first project of cooperation between GEFCO Russia and the Chinese company, SinoWorlink. In 2018 and 2019, transit projects were implemented for European automakers to deliver vehicles from Europe to China with transshipment at Russian railway stations.».
GEFCO Russia is already preparing the next shipment for this project, scheduled for May.
